National School Lunch Week

Get ready to set sail for a week of delicious adventures! Who’s excited to dig into some tasty treasures during National School Lunch Week?

This year's celebration will take place October 14-18th.

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

Meeting Notice

Avonworth’s strategic plan outlines the areas of focus, strategies, and actions that will ensure that our students gain the learning experiences that will enable them to continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally so that they become innovative thinkers and creative contributors to our world.

Our current strategic plan was created with stakeholder input and adopted in 2020. It ends at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year.

As we look ahead and plan for our future, we will engage in the strategic planning process throughout the 2024-2025 school year, with the goal of developing a new strategic plan that will take effect at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.

Please stay on the lookout for more information!

food service update

Dear Avonworth Families,

We'd like to share a few important updates from our food service team at Avonworth.

Cafeteria Menus

Our cafeteria menus are available on our website. Click here to view them.

Free Breakfast

As a reminder, Pennsylvania will provide free breakfast for all students during the 2024-2025 school year. State funding will also provide free lunch to all students who are eligible for free OR reduced-priced meals during the 2024-2025 school year. Students who do not qualify for free or reduced meals will still receive free breakfast, but will have to pay full price for lunch.

Free/Reduced Meal Application

If you have not yet applied for free/reduced meals and would like to, please visit our website for more information. Click here to view free/reduced meal information.

Cafeteria Payment Procedures

All enrolled students will automatically have a cafeteria account. This account can be accessed using the student’s last name, student’s ID card or student’s ID number.

Payments are accepted in the classroom (APC/AES only), in the cafeteria, in the school office or by mail. Checks are the preferred method of payment and will act as your receipt. Please include student name and/or ID number on the check made payable to the Avonworth Cafeteria Fund.

For your convenience, Avonworth offers you the option to fund your child’s cafeteria account online using the My School Bucks payment system. This service charges a transaction fee for making payments. Parents can sign up for a free account on myschoolbucks.com for several benefits including:

Avonworth School District is committed to:

  • Allowing all students access to healthy meals to improve their readiness and ability to learn.

  • Providing free or reduced priced meals to students that qualify in a manner that prevents overt identification of these benefits.

  • Treating all students with dignity at all times. Prevent identification of students with insufficient funds to pay for school meals.

  • Maintaining the financial integrity of the self-supporting, nonprofit school food service account.
